Maternity visit

After the birth it is important to relax with your new family and get used to each other. Visitors are of course welcome, but try to dose this. Write on the birth announcement when mother and child are resting and that you would like people to call before they come over. This way you can decide for yourself when you want to receive visitors or not.

Some people do not opt for maternity visits, but give a maternity party a few weeks after the birth. This way, the first weeks of your maternity period are a lot quieter. You have enough coming at you already!

If visitors come, have them wash their hands before touching the baby. Please do not let visitors who are sick or have a cold come by. This also applies to sick small children. It is wise not to let visitors with a cold sore touch the baby.
