Dizzy

Fainting and dizziness are common in pregnant women. If you are in a tight space or must stand for a long time, it is not uncommon to feel dizzy or even faint. You can usually feel fainting coming on; you literally break out in a sweat and see black spots before your eyes.

CAUSE

It is caused by the vasodilatory effects of the pregnancy hormone progesterone, the low blood pressure in the middle of pregnancy, and sometimes anemia also plays a role.

TIPS

If you feel you are going to faint, sit with your head down, with your nose on your knees. This position will speed up the flow of blood to your head. Fresh air also helps, so open windows or go outside for a while.
