Fatique

Being pregnant takes a lot of energy. Suddenly, you need more rest and sleep than usual. Fatigue varies depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy.

CAUSE

All the hormonal changes and processes require extra energy from your body, and the baby needs a lot of energy to grow, too. In the beginning of the pregnancy women feel more tired because of the changing hormonal balance. The body must adjust to the new situation. This takes extra energy. Halfway through the pregnancy, women usually feel best. Your body is used to it. Your body is used to the pregnancy and your belly is not as big yet, even though everyone can see that you are pregnant.

The baby grows relatively fast between the thirtieth and thirty-fourth week. Women usually feel less energetic during the seventh month, and they usually experience more hard contractions due to the baby's growth.
The last weeks are especially tiring, because the baby is practically full-grown by then and your body must carry and maintain a full-grown child.

TIPS

  • Try to get some rest on time. If you have lots of energy and feel good, just go ahead. As long as your baby is growing well, there are no restrictions. Doing lots of things and being active won't hurt as long as you enjoy it.
  • Listen carefully to your body and take rest when your body tells you to.
