Stress

Stress can affect the course of your pregnancy. Stress can have many different causes, too many to list here. Stress can be divided into short-term and chronic stress.

SHORT-TERM STRESS

Short-term stress is unpredictable and usually unavoidable. For example, an accident, moving house, arguing with a loved one, illness or death of a loved one, etc. Besides the fact that it is often a very bad situation for yourself, your child can sometimes notice it. If it doesn't last too long, a healthy baby can handle this just fine. It is important that you try to take care of yourself as best as you can, take a rest and talk about it with the people who are close to you.

CHRONIC STRESS

Chronic stress is more complicated. A baby that is healthy can take a lot but still suffer from stress. It can sometimes affect growth and the baby may be more restless after birth. However, it is not always possible to avoid chronic stress, but try to limit it. The most important thing is that you talk about it with people you love and try to find a solution together. Seek expert help, your midwife or doctor can help you with this.
